Taking the place of what was once Universal's Cartoon Store is a monumental tribute to our square, porous friend from a pineapple under the sea. This store is about as close as you can come to being an attraction, while still classifying as a retail location. Even if you don't have a penny left to spend, you really should stop in. You'll find SpongeBob and Squidward's homes, a larger than life Gary, and many other features that are perfect for photo ops. At the front of the store you can even meet the SpongeBob characters at scheduled times. If you can get there just as the characters are coming out, you'll even see them do a little song and dance before heading out for the meet and greet.
The merchandise here covers everything SpongeBob, from tees and plush toys, to a whole line themed to the Crusty Crab. Fans of this show and it's quirky characters will be in heaven at SpongeBob Storepants. With this new store, Universal has replaced an out-dated mish-mash of items with a location that's not to be missed by any family with kids.
