2011 Grinchmas at Universal Studios Orlando, Islands of Adventure

Though Christmas festivities kicked off a mere week after Halloween at the Disney parks, Universal’s activities have been set to a more conservative schedule. Grinchmas is set to begin on December 3 in the Islands of Adventure theme park and run until January 1, 2012. For guests planning a visit over Christmas, this means that you <i>can</i> catch the special events at Universal Studios during this time, while Disney will have wrapped up on December 18.

The Grinchmas celebration will include a special Who tree lighting ceremony, the musical Whoville Whobilation show and special appearances by the Grinch himself. The festivities aren’t contained to the stage, either. As you stroll though Seuss Landing you may be able to spot the cheerful Whos themselves spreading the holiday spirit.

All of the Whoville festivities are included with your Islands of Adventure park ticket.

For a more personal experience with the Grinch and his fellow Dr. Seuss characters, you can also attend a holiday character breakfast on select dates. Reservations are required to attend, so book early to make sure you can catch a meal with this holiday icon. Dates for the Breakfast with the Grinch & Friends are December 1-4, 8-12, 15-19 and 21-31. Adults are $21.95 and children aged 3-9 are $14.95. Tax and gratuity are not included in these purchase prices. Preferred Passholders get a 10% discount on the meal while Premier Passholders get a 15% discount. Cal 407.224.4012 for dining reservations.
