Universal Gears Up for HHN 2011

Preparations for Halloween Horror Nights 2011 are in full swing at Universal Studios Florida. If you've been to the park recently you may have noticed the queues shortened for rides such as Jaws and Disaster to make way for construction of the sprawling haunted houses that are the highlight of the event. But the houses aren't the only thing that will give you a chill.

Nearly every inch of the park is transformed by night for Halloween Horror Nights and you'll be hard-pressed to find even a few feet of walkway where you won't have all your senses assaulted by the horrifying sights, sounds and even scents. Scaractors are far from being relegated to the confining walls of a house. You'll find them everywhere, roaming the streets looking for their next victim.

The few hints that have been released so far about this year's event point toward a casino theme, playing on the number 21 (think blackjack), since this is the 21st annual Horror Nights event. The only character we can guarantee you'll see at this point is The Thing, in honor of the upcoming Universal film. Teasers are being released from time to time to hint at more details. You can see what you make of the most recent one below.

The event begins September 23 and advance tickets are available now. Florida residents can get discounted tickets with the UPC from any coke product.
