Top Ten Attractions for Toddlers at Universal Studios

Theme parks present a distinct challenge to the shorter set, as their obvious height limitations keep them off of the big name attractions. But your tots don’t need to resign themselves to moping in the child swap. Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure both have plenty of engaging, and often interactive, attractions perfect for even the smallest children.

Universal Studios Florida

A Day in the Park with Barney – Your favorite purple dinosaur and all his friends come out to play in this stage show where children are encouraged to sing and dance along.

Curios George Goes to Town Play Area – From the tame splash pad in the front to the massive water buckets that take center stage, this wild play area has something for every size guest. Just be sure to bring swim attire!

Animal Actors On Location – This kid-friendly show features a complete menagerie of trained animals from dogs and cats to hawks and orangutans. Unlike some other stage shows, this one is fairly quiet and calm so you don’t have to worry about pyrotechnics or startling sounds.

Fievel's Playland – Explore sounds, textures and lots of toddler-sized spaces in this play land designed to make you feel like the mouse in an oversized world.

Shrek 4-D – There’s no height limit for this short 3-D movie, and lap sitting is allowed. If you can’t get your little ones to keep their glasses on, however, child swap is also available.

Islands of Adventure

Caro-Seuss-el – It’s a carousel gone wacky at Caro-Seuss-el where colorful beasts of all shapes and sizes patiently await their mounts for a Seuss-ified spin.

Me Ship, The Olive Play Area – Climb aboard Popeye’s ship for spinach-filled fun as you bounce off the walls of the cargo hold, play the piano or shoot water guns at unsuspecting guests below.

If I Ran the Zoo Play Area – Crawl through caves, tickle monsters and splash in fountains in this colorful maze-like play land.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish – This simple spinning attraction has no height limit as long as the little ones are with an adult. Spin and splash your way around as you guide your vehicle up and down.

The Cat in the Hat – This wild ride through the classic book accepts passengers of all sizes, provided that they can sit on their own. Keep an arm around your precious cargo, because the spins on this ride are quite the doozy.
