Age Appropriateness: Anyone tall enough to ride

Seat Description: Bench seats with lap bar; three rows of four

Ride Description:The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is an ingenious hybrid of 3D film and special effects dark ride. The ride takes you through the streets of New York on Spider-Man’s tail in a “roving motion based simulator.” You’re up against a whole host of villains including Dr. Octopus, The Hobgoblin, Hydroman and Electro who have conspired together to steal the Statue of Liberty.

After stumbling across their plot, you become a target who must be silenced. As the villains chase you through the city, you find yourself dodging fire, careening through sewer pipes and freefalling 400 (simulated) feet toward the unforgiving pavement. Fortunately, Spider-Man is always on your tail, saving you from disaster at the last possible second.

If you can get your bearings quick enough, look for a marquee on your left just after the Hobgoblin's attack. You'll see a phone number you can call to hear a perfectly themed little message. (And if you can't catch it quick enough, it's 407-224-1783. Have fun!)

At the conclusion of your adventure you see the foiled villains trapped in Spiderman’s web – just another day in the life of a super hero.

The combination of 3D technology and the moving ride vehicle creates an unforgettable experience that makes you feel as though you’re moving much farther and faster than you actually are. Though it’s difficult to wrap your head around after experiencing it, you don’t actually fall from the top of a skyscraper – it just feels like it.

Many of the other effects, however, are entirely real including splashes of water, exploding fire, thick mist and the very real truck you nearly hit at the beginning of your adventure. Altogether, this combination of effects results in a journey that no theme park enthusiast should miss.

Getting Ready: Bone up on the Spider-Man movies and any and all comics that you can get your hands on. Some of the villains are not well-known, so having a bit of knowledge of who’s who may come in handy.

Worth the Wait: This is possibly one of the best themed attractions in the world, so an hour is very worth it. The Spider-man queue takes you through the office of the Daily Bugle and includes several animated features building up the plot line. Take note of the desks and offices you pass. Their drab coloring perfectly mimics what you would find in the background of a comic book.

Ride Restrictions: You should not ride this attraction if you:

  • are expecting
  • have a heart condition or abnormal blood pressure
  • have neck, back, or similar physical conditions
  • are susceptible to motion sickness
  • have a medical condition aggravated by strobe effects
  • have a medical condition aggravated by fog effects
  • have a fear of enclosed spaces
Guests in wheelchairs must be able to transfer to ride seating.
